The growth phase is one of the most sensitive phases in a cat's life. Kittens need around 12 months to reach adulthood. Kittens in the first growth phase (1st to 4th month) have special needs that must be taken into account in their diet.

The growing kitten enters a phase of dietary change, the so-called weaning:
-The kitten gradually loses the ability to digest lactose (milk sugar), while at the same time the ability to utilize starch slowly increases.
-The immune protection of the kitten, which is provided by the antibody-rich colostrum of the mother in the first period of life, slowly decreases and the puppy's own immune system only develops gradually.
-Kittens' milk teeth appear between the 2nd and 3rd month. The permanent teeth do not form until the 4th month.
