Natural complete food for all large breeds!
Large breed dogs need a special diet because of their sensitive digestive tract and joints!
Large breed dogs tend to gulp down their food. The larger shape of the rings in Vollmers Large Breeds will help the dog chew them and clean their teeth at the same time. If the chunks are swallowed whole, the shape of the rings will cause them to break down more quickly as the stomach juices penetrate better. This is a first step towards better digestion.
The grain in Vollmers Large Breeds is broken down using a particularly gentle extrusion process. The grain consists largely of easily digestible rice. The processed barley is a slowly digestible source of carbohydrates that helps regulate blood sugar levels and prevents stomach torsion.
Grain by-products such as corn gluten, wheat gluten, wheat flour, wheat bran, etc. are not used in any of our feed.
The meat ingredients in Vollmers Große Rasse are based on high-quality fresh meat from poultry and beef that have been slaughtered under veterinary controls and approved for human consumption.
The poultry meat consists of approximately 78% chicken, 12% turkey, 5% duck and 5% chicken.
Highly digestible poultry fats and salmon oil with a high content of Omega 6 and 3 fatty acids reduce hair loss, improve coat quality and prevent inflammatory skin diseases.
Cold-pressed salmon oil contains the highest levels of omega 3 (essential) fatty acids. These essential fatty acids, which are so important for dogs, cannot be produced by the dog itself and so the dog is dependent on a constant supply. Other important components in salmon oil are EPA and DHA fatty acids. They are extremely helpful for all coat and hair problems, weakened immune systems, metabolic dysfunctions, allergic diseases, fertility disorders, growth disorders, heart disease, vascular diseases and are ideal for stabilizing bones from puppies to seniors. According to a new study, dogs fed salmon oil have proven to be more capable of learning.
The water content of the stool of large dogs is increased due to the permeability of the intestinal walls, which allows more water to enter the intestine and leads to increased soft stools.
By adding insoluble clay minerals (diatomaceous earth) and non-fermentable fibers from carob and carrots, with their high water-binding capacity, the moisture content of the feces is minimized (firmer feces consistency).
Due to their size, the joints of large breed dogs are exposed to extreme stress. To keep the cartilage and joints healthy, various natural cartilage-building and joint-stabilising ingredients are added to Vollmers Large Breeds. These include our Bio-Vital Complex PLUS with a high proportion of mussel extract, glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate, gelatine,
diatomaceous earth, seaweed flour and herbs.
To support the immune system, antioxidants such as natural alpha-toropherols, vitamin E, C and selenium are added.
To support intestinal function, bioregulating substances are added to the feed, such as fructo oligosaccharides (promote the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria and suppress the growth of unfavorable intestinal bacteria) and manganese oligosaccharides (cling to the pathogenic bacteria in the intestine and are then excreted with the feces).
Flaxseed has a high proportion of omega 3 fatty acids. However, its greater bioregulatory value lies in its dietary effect, as the mucous substances it contains protect the stomach lining.
Vollmer's Great Race contains:
- no meat from hormone-fed animals (allowed in the USA)
- no meat disinfected with chlorine (allowed in the USA)
- no carcass or animal meal

Vollmers Large Breeds can be fed wet (poured with a little water) or dry.
