Torgas chewing roots are an extremely durable chewing toy made of untreated root wood. Even with vigorous chewing, the basic shape is retained and offers healthy and long-lasting chewing fun for all dogs who love to chew.

The History of TORGAS
Sculptor Berno’s sculptures made of heather roots (Portuguese “Torgas”) aroused the interest of his dog “Bica”.
She secretly stole one, ran out into the sun and started gnawing on it. “That thing is pretty robust,” she said, barely getting a splinter off it.
Again and again she dragged “her” root sculpture around and tested it again and again – a new dog toy, the “Torga chewing root” was invented!

Gnawing and chewing is a species-appropriate way for dogs to keep themselves busy and to relieve stress. The Torga satisfies this need to chew without consuming additional calories.

Torgas chewing roots are ideal for dental care, for calming in stressful situations and for puppies during teething.

TORGAS come from the mountains of central Portugal and are made by hand from the root tuber of a native heather species. During processing, the root is carefully cleaned and smoothed manually,
to obtain a solid surface without sharp edges. Taking into account the shapes given by nature, each Torga is unique. We pay attention to sustainability throughout the entire manufacturing process
and resource-saving processing.

The individual sizes are sorted by weight.

Size XS: approx. 80 to 150 g

Size S: ca.200 up to 300g

Size M: approx. 300 to 500 g

Size L: approx. 500 to 700 g

Size XL: approx. 700 to 1000 g
